Lovable Signs Multiyear Google Cloud Deal to Scale AI Coding Platform 5x

The AI-assisted coding startup's Google Cloud partnership signals how infrastructure giants are betting on next-gen developer platforms.

Lovable, the Stockholm-based "vibe-coding" startup that lets users describe software in plain language and have it automatically generated, has signed an expanded multiyear partnership with Google Cloud. According to a source with knowledge of the deal, it involves a fivefold increase in Lovable's footprint on Google Cloud infrastructure and significantly expanded access to Anthropic's Claude AI models through Google's platform.

The deal is notable on multiple levels. Lovable has grown quickly since its founding, positioning itself as part of a new wave of AI-powered development tools that abstract away the technical complexity of building software. By making it possible for non-engineers to create functional apps through natural language prompts, Lovable has attracted users ranging from solo founders to enterprise product teams.

The Anthropic connection is particularly significant. Google has invested a total of $10 billion in Anthropic, with commitments of up to $30 billion more if the AI lab hits certain performance milestones. Routing Lovable's AI model access through Google Cloud's infrastructure deepens Anthropic's commercial footprint while reinforcing Google Cloud as the preferred platform for Claude-powered applications.

Under the new agreement, Lovable's intelligent agent will also be listed in Google Cloud's enterprise agent marketplace — the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery — giving it access to enterprise customers already embedded in Google's ecosystem. This is a meaningful distribution channel, particularly as more large organizations explore AI agent procurement through existing vendor relationships.

The partnership reflects a broader competitive dynamic in the cloud market. Microsoft Azure has benefited enormously from its OpenAI partnership, and Google Cloud has been working to match that advantage by tying Anthropic's Claude capabilities to its own infrastructure. Deals like the Lovable agreement help Google Cloud demonstrate real developer adoption, not just headline announcements.

No financial terms were disclosed by either company, but the scale and structure of the deal suggests Google Cloud is treating Lovable as a strategic portfolio investment in the next generation of AI-native development tooling.

Why It Matters

The Lovable-Google Cloud deal is a window into how cloud hyperscalers are building defensible positions in the AI tools era. As AI coding assistants become mainstream, the cloud platforms that power them gain sticky, high-compute workloads. For enterprise buyers, it also signals that AI-assisted development tools are maturing from experiments into infrastructure-grade investments worth long-term contracts.
