For enterprise teams, this is not an academic shift. AI budget owners are now evaluating multiple model tiers for production workloads, and cost-per-output has become central to architecture decisions. If a model can deliver acceptable reasoning and coding quality at a fraction of the cost, teams can expand usage into workflows that previously failed ROI thresholds or were limited to pilot programs.
